FermiLink Terms of Use¶

Effective Date: February 10, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the FermiLink web service, including the chat interface, backend execution service, and related software (“Service”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service¶

FermiLink is an AI-assisted scientific simulation service. It can:

  • accept your prompts and files through a web interface;

  • route requests to a scientific package based on keyword matching and model-based checks;

  • execute agent-driven workflows in a per-session workspace repository;

  • generate outputs such as scripts, logs, figures, and other artifacts.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise by the operator, the Service is provided for research and educational use.

2. Accounts and Access¶

You may be required to register with an email-like identifier and password to use the Service. You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate account information;

  • maintaining confidentiality of your credentials;

  • all activity under your account.

You must promptly notify the operator if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use¶

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • violate applicable law or third-party rights;

  • attempt unauthorized access, privilege escalation, or service disruption;

  • upload or execute malicious code;

  • abuse shared compute, storage, or quota resources;

  • generate or distribute content that is unlawful or intentionally harmful.

The operator may enforce technical or policy limits, including runtime limits, prompt quotas, package restrictions, and sandbox constraints.

4. User Content and License¶

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including prompts, uploaded files, and generated project data (“User Content”), subject to rights in underlying third-party materials.

You grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, and transform User Content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

5. Workspace Storage, Retention, and Deletion¶

The Service stores computational session data under workspace directories (for example, workspaces/<session_id>/) and related application databases/artifact storage.

Important retention terms:

  • Workspace data is not guaranteed to be stored indefinitely.

  • The operator may delete, prune, or reset workspace data at any time, including when storage is limited, for system maintenance, security, policy enforcement, or inactivity.

  • Deleted data may be unrecoverable.

  • You are responsible for exporting and backing up any data you need to keep.

6. Automated Package Selection and AI Output¶

The Service may automatically select a scientific package for your request using heuristic routing and model-based checks. Package selection may be incorrect.

AI-generated outputs can contain errors, omissions, invalid assumptions, unsafe commands, or scientifically incorrect conclusions. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating all results before relying on them.

7. Third-Party Software and Services¶

The Service may rely on third-party tools, model providers, open-source software, and package content. Availability, behavior, and quality may change without notice.

Use of third-party components may also be subject to their own license terms and policies.

8. Intellectual Property¶

The Service software, branding, and non-user materials are owned by the operator or licensors and protected by law. Except for limited use rights under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties¶

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

THE OPERATOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR FIT FOR YOUR USE CASE.

10. Limitation of Liability¶

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $0 IF NO FEES WERE PAID).

11. Indemnification¶

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operator and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Suspension and Termination¶

The operator may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for Terms violations, security issues, legal requests, or operational reasons.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately, and stored data may be deleted.

13. Changes to These Terms¶

The operator may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law¶

These Terms are governed by applicable law in the operator’s jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law applies.

15. Contact¶

For questions about these Terms, contact the FermiLink service operator.
